The OAKs Internationals
Bringing the World to Hope so we can Bring Hope to the World
Imagine being a college student whose family has sacrificed so that you could study in America, but now you are in a strange culture with no friends and no money to visit your family on breaks. Or you might be an orphan rescued from a refugee camp in a war stricken country in Africa but also find yourself in a strange culture with minimal knowledge of the language and no formal schooling. Or perhaps you are a high school student spending part of your school year in Elizabethtown to learn English.
Our goals are simple. We want to show God's love through friendship and hospitality with international people and to give our local community opportunities to open their homes, and hearts, in order to develop lasting relationships with people from other coutnries.
We do this by short term student hosting opportunities over Thanksgiving and Easter holiday breaks as well as summer and spring breaks. Some of the ways that we connect with students and other internationals who have relocated to our area include hosting social events, sharing friendship suppers, and caring for physical needs through care packages.
Kindness is an international language the whole world understands.
You can be part of this exciting adventure and travel around the world without ever leaving town!!! For more information please contact Sharon Ogilvie or the church office.
